Title: 147 Brakeplate
Post by: calvin1714 on August 14, 2008, 05:06:30 PM
I have own a yr 2003 147, wheel R16. Does anyone know that what brand of brakeplates / disc will the car service centre choose to fit my car? Will they import the parts from Europe?

Or, is it cheaper to bring my car to any service centre to get them done?

The brake plates have been worn about 28000km in the past 2 years.

Thanks All!!!  ;D

A dealer will fit OE parts. An independant serivice centre could fit OE or anything else, you'll need to ask. Australian / Japanese cars typically don't get much rotor wear, but European cars are often designed for the rotors to be consumable items (and are usually priced reasonably). Brake pad material is black magic and you'll get a different opiniuon for each person you ask. If you like them the way they are, then I'd stick to OE. Most manufacturers have become more competitive in their parts pricing in recent years.
