I just found it hard to find coilovers for the Giulietta so I thought people might want a well price alternative

Nice
I won't post again about the coilovers
But do you know how much boost a stock Giulietta runs
As I have to fill in a form so it can get inducted as a production touring car
Another ad for NSW Production Touring
I don't own that
I'm just a car owner at heart

Hey David,
I too race one of these, not sure about boost,
I have sent you a PM.

WTF, Osprey, your second and third post and you are abusing (telling off) a new member with 1 or 2 post who is telling us how he is campaigning a Giulietta. Your previous post was in 2014 which was also a bit of a whinge.
David, you are alright in my books, tell me more about the coilovers, Yellowspeed, I know they are good for MX5's too. In due course I want to do a Giulietta too.
Cheers mate.

Hi Osprey, if you have an issue with a post please use the 'report to moderator' and we can take a look. That kind of response is not needed to a new member.
@David our forum doesn't allow commercial posts, so I'll ask you not to make ongoing adverts. Please do keep telling us about the preparation of the car and the bits you're sourcing though.
Come on Evan, there are a lot worst posts than this, what about that dude who is forever flogging those cheesy stainless steel keyrings, at least put a bottle opener to them.
I want to know more about the coilovers. This type of information is useful.
PS I have had a few Johnnies and Turkeys. And bored by this Christmas thing.
The man is campaigning an Alfa and backing his product of interest to Alfa owners. Big difference between advertising and information for mine. Welcome David and I look forward to hearing more about your racer if not your coilovers ;).
Please keep posting David. Anyone who campaigns an Alfa like you're planning to is welcome here.
Neil will buy your car when you're done with it ;D
Great to hear you are going to Bathurst David. Is that the only event you are going taking the Giulietta to?
Keep everyone posted on progress as you prep your car, and of any other events you enter - a lot of us will keen to see how you go.

Cool cage, David. Inspiring. So now they have a set up for Giulietta's, excellent.
We are looking at the AGI bolt in for the 156's.
The Giulietta is almost back together, It now has a custom 5 puck button clutch and a Quaife differential(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170318/60329e34626a4f930007e1f7b428bd89.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170318/c88239150b25bad3d4bf10891147e57a.jpg)
The Bathurst 6hr starts tomorrow with a full day of car inspections and media events. practice Friday.

Looks great David.
Best of luck - great to see a modern Alfa on the grid. Apparently the race will be streamed live at the website below - so I'll be checking in as the day progresses.

Nice work David
All the best for the Bathurst 6 hours this weekend and it is good to see a modern Alfa Romeo competing on the race track.

I thought I'd add to this post from my previous post in David's other "Coilovers for the Bathurst 6 Hr", if anyone has been following the practice and qual times I thought I'd list the final qual for three very different Alfa Romeos.
James Alfa Giula Ti Super. Qual 3.02.759
Hugh Alfa Alfetta GTV 6 (originally 2.5Lt last I spoke with him at Aust GP last year 3.2Lt don't know now) ex Jones/Bond full race car Qual best 2.43.22
David Alfa Giulietta QV 1742cc, basically a road car, with coilovers with a cage. Qual 2.43.566
I wish all Alfas and their drivers the best for their own races. Especially David who is breaking new ground for a Giulietta in a professional race event.
For those interested the first supporting race to the Bathurst 6 hour is about to start 9:50 EST. It can be seen on Live stream refer to earlier post for this link.

The Giulietta ran faultless all weekend, We clocked up 9.5 hrs of track time.
The top speed we achieved down Conrod Straight was 225kmh.
We finished 31st outright and 4th in class
Not bad for it's first ever race meeting and first ever test laps on Friday at Bathurst.
I think with a little bit more development our lap times will drop quite a bit.
Question# Can you turn the traction control off and stability control?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well done David, I watched the start and first few laps. The giulietta looked right at home. Did you get to keep the grid girls?
Coming fourth in class for first attempt is an excellent result. Watched the race at the start for several laps and the last 1/2 hour, together with the other 2 supporting races in which the other 2 x Alfas competed. In regards to your query on traction control being turned off, I located a thread from another Alfa owners forum who have covered this and it appears you can. Have included the link to this thread which contains 8 responses.

Hi
I can't seem to get your link working.
The car ran really well hey the traction and stability control hampers our pace.
The car will be a lot quicker if the driving aids are turned off.
But in saying that the stability control saved my butt. After hitting oil at Mcfillamy park , At about 160kms an hour all the safety devices cut in and straightened the car up and saved a very quick trip into the gravel trap

Hi Bonno
I got the link working, We did find the link in the weekend and I tried the 10 sec holding the button, it didn't seem to work. We couldn't work out what fuse was for the traction control as we don't have a owners book and the fuse box only has number in it

David

Hi David
Checked the link I provided and found it to work on my computer. It does come up with a pop up screen to register but you can still read the information on the thread.

Hi David
Have located information on fuses for your vehicle at the following link. Looking at the diagram F31, +30 (F36), F49, F51 & +30 (F53) indicate various devices (What these devices are is unclear??). Maybe some fellow Alfisti with a user manual for the subject model and year can clear this up.

Just watched edited race coverage on foxtel speedweek program. Pretty spectacular fireball near the end when an AMG Mercedes burst into flame. Very gratifying to be able to tell my son "see, it's not just Alfas like mine that catch fire..." :)
