Title: Engine Oil Sump
Post by: chopperpat on October 08, 2016, 08:20:44 PM
Pardon my ignorance. But is there any reason to modify the Oil Pan of a 105 for track work or is the standard item good enough?

Do you have the standard shallow lower section sump of the deeper lower section sump? The deeper sump has a little more capacity so that would mean lower oil temp.

Thanks for the answer Barry.  I am an owner of a GT Junior and was comparing the sump to my troublesome oil system installed on my Valiant.  So that is the only modification required to the sump?

Stock sump works pretty well, probably still worth adding a couple of trap doors to the stock labrinth. Adding a Windage tray/girdle is worth doing too.
