Title: oil cooler lines
Post by: ARQ164 Shane on June 22, 2016, 05:17:01 PM
Hi guys,
I am putting in an aftermarket oil sandwich plate on the oil filter
that go's to a B&M oil thermostat then to my oil cooler with I put out of an Auto 164
(trans cooler) it has 1/2 lines .
What size lines should I run 1/2 or 3/4 ?
The motor is a 3L v6 12v 1991 It did have an water cooler on it but all the steel pipe
was in a bad way with rust and the soldered parts were leaking badly water and oil.
cheers mates ,
Shane

If it's a multi pass tube and fin trans cooler, it's completely the wrong sort of cooler to use for an engine oil cooler.
That said, -8 should be plenty.

 Hi LaStregaNera,
I have removed the old oil cooler witch from the 164 q .

The new oil cooler is a sandwich plate between the block and the oil filter two line go to the
radiator type cooler
