Title: 164 Gear Selector Shroud Removal
Post by: V AR 164 on May 23, 2015, 10:52:44 AM
Hey guys,

I want to get a new replacement for my gear selector shroud but I am unsure on how to remove the old one. I am sure you have to take off the gear selector. How?

As you can see my old one has the usual problem.

Thanks, Andrew

Simply pull the shifter straight up, it will get to a certain stress point and just release, slide a small screwdriver along either side of the cover to loosen up any sticky adhesive them just slowly lever/raise it up, once any adhesive is loosened/removed it is only held in situ via plastic/metal end spring tabs, raise slowly because if you raise it in quick motion you will rip the indicator lights out of the plastic holder which sometimes snaps the side off, slow and steady  ;)
