Title: Auto Italia
Post by: LukeC on March 30, 2015, 09:49:23 AM
Fantastic turnout yesterday at Auto Italia. Great weather if a bit of a chilly start...

Great to see the 4C in the flesh at last! Awesome!

Good that there was no Supercar rev-fest this year.

Only sour point to me was the absolute F*CK-WIT in the Lamborginini that floored it *INSIDE* the gardens exiting and probably hit 120 km/h. Nice if a kid ran out and got killed! Not to mention that if someone complained to the NCA, Auto Italia would be back to scuzzy old Grevilia park.

If I had been quick enough to get his plate, I personally would have rung the police.

LukeC. Can only agree with you re the fantastic AI on Sunday. The 4C certainly attracted a sizeable crowd all day. Lots of great cars and plenty of enthusiasm of Italian cars and bikes. This event continues to grow in size and popularity with many interstaters enjoying the day/event again this year.
The performance by that moron in the Lambo was entirely in character for the breed and just helps to confirm the view that there are more than a few within the Lambo ranks who qualify as a LOMBARD. He was probably the very same cretin who drove through the Manuka shopping centre on Saturday blipping the throttle on his Lambo as he went and demonstrating to all and sundry that he is indeed a 14 carat FW with an IQ on a par with the tyre pressure of one of his tyres. Pity that other Lambo owners don't jump on these cretins and reign in their behaviour. Only gives the rest a bad name.

Sounds like a repeat of the Lambo morons in Lygon St earlier this month after the Italian Icons day. As we were leaving, two later model Lambos proceeded to drag race each other along the tram tracks amongst Sunday arvo traffic, probably 120kph in the 60 zone.
If this moronic behavior keeps up, car clubs will find it difficult to get council and police permits to stage any public event, and the general public will brand us all as anti-social idiots. Perhaps we need to record, identify and dob in the dangerous moron factor before we all feel the repercussions.
I recall what Joe Nastase said about giving up his New York Lambo dealership after 25 years....saying the type of people who buy these new cars now are mostly cashed-up trash; rappers, drug dealers, porn stars, pimps and dubious financial types and their lawyers....he was rather relieved about giving it up as too many ended up on the evening news for all the wrong reasons.
That's no map pocket in the Lambo console, it's your criminal rap-sheet holder...... 8)

There was so many great cars on offer. As much as I'm not usually a huge fan of the Alfa 90 (the 75 casts a bit of a shadow and early Alfetta sedans are the bomb), seeing that mint 90 in the winners' circle was unbelievable. I've never seen an alfa so original and so mint.
Super strong performance from the Alfa crew (hopefully I get mine there next year).
I'd really like to see more fulvias is all.
Great day pretty much all round (I missed the lambo silliness ... shame).

I loved the new location at Exhibition Park. Plenty of room for everything & plenty of cars.
