Thanks Colin -- looking forward to this!

The ever thoughtful Matty at Alfa Men graciously lent me a 156 while my Benz was in for service this week.  Went to great effort to run me through Selespeed which I've never driven before.  Won't say it was better than having a clutch pedal, but it was lots of fun...

Hey Colin,

thanks for the chat yesterday. Could you keep me in the loop on this tech night, as well, please?

I'll second that...

Another great technical night at Alfamen. Matt's nights are unique because he goes to a lot of trouble to not only explain the technical aspects of our cars from an engineering perspective, but also from a design philosophy.

His gift is that he can turn a relatively dry subject such as oil, or emissions control and miraculously make it interesting.  Let's be honest - this takes a special skill  :D

Overall a fantastic night - there was beer, pizza and great conversation - and I have no doubt everyone learnt something new.

Alfamen technical nights are no doubt one of the best on the calender and I highly recommend putting your names down for next year!

Thanks again to Matt and his staff who all went to enormous trouble putting the night on  8)

just cut and paste the link in your post, highlight it with your mouse then if you look at all of the little icons above the smiley faces - click on the second button on the second row (next to the youtube button).. that will insert  instructions.. The link sits between those commands. Otherwise you could manually type (http://at%20the%20start%20of%20the%20link%20and) at the end of the link.

That will make your pics show up on the thread. :)

Odd, for me the youtube button us right under the bold button and the image button is under the italic button.

Well, at the beginning of the link type - (http://and%20at%20the%20end%20type)  that should work.

To embed a photo from Flickr, go to the photo page itself then click the 'share' arrow in the bottom right hand corner.  It gives you an option to create "BBCode" and select a size of the image.  Copy the BBCode from there, and paste it into your post on this forum.

Image attached might help.  Bit complicated, but easy enough once you've done it once.

Thanks Evan.  Worked with the 1st photo, then when I added the other photos the "Post" button disappeared and doing a "Preview" everything that I had written in the box, got deleted.  :(  Fortunately there was the browser "Back" button.

So, I'll leave it as it is.

Ditto for a great night.

Learnt a few interesting ideas I was able to try for myself!

Pizza was great but I don't know if the beer was appropriate.

Suggest Perroni in keeping with the marque.

I rarely use my laptop. Always use TAPATALK app in my iPhone. Very easy to upload photos, add a link etc. Some people think it's complicated. But much easier than pc once you know.

I missed the technical night. I was on job.  driving. [emoji20]
