A few laps from Run Group 2 (with Mick providing some entertainment in the middle!)

Awesome, Mick - I like the way that the car runs right out over where the witches hats used to be coming onto the main straight - but you just let it run on like it 'standard operating procedure!'
Quotepersonal best lap for the day, 1.29.1158.
.
Mick, very quick as usual . THe new go pro camera appears to be very good and the camera position in the car is a lot better than previously. Is there much difference in where you have located the camera
Mick / Chris - both great footage, plus a really interesting comparison of the drag up the back straight.....Mick we need to find a few more HP's from somewhere!!!!!!

Nice lap Mick. I like the flame-proof trousers too.
I liked watching the dirt in the passenger footwell too! Shows the gforces on the corners :P

You don't need horsepower, you need an MX5 LOL..... Video of my MX5 standard 1.8 motor/ecu, standard intake, paper filter, standard gearbox, diff and brakes. It has a cheap exhaust, coilovers, front swaybar, and some dodgy aero. Managed a 1:28.8. The car was put together from a $500 full shell and a written off 2001 model MX5 for the running gear. I was running new nitto's - they are very good.

But Dave, you are an absolute crazy mad man, that's your advantage...........and that's why....
Good stuff.
Very entertaining videos from all again.
Mick, I like the wide view and the sound from the new camera, and grouse lap.
Dave, very impressive lap. I've heard and found out its difficult to go under 1:30 with our small N/A engines.
All, Here are the thrills and spills, fluffed gear changes, overtakes, spins, fly by's from on-board our 105 GTV on the weekend. Hope you enjoy.

Simon,
@ 50 sec is when my throttle linkage came off, lucky you didn't rear end me.
I don't think i am crazy, if the car can do it, then why not. If i was a good driver i could have gone under a 1:28 according to the data. It takes your best sectors and adds them together. Just a matter of getting all those sectors right on the one lap. If anyone is interested this is a video of the lap from sunday with the new nittos, overlayed with the lap from 2 weeks earlier with the old kumhos.

Very interesting, thanks for posting. Which Nittos, and where did you get them?
Very impressive lap times from a standard MX-5 engine and brakes. Does it have an LSD?
Yes, it has a standard mx5 torsen diff. The nittos (nto1) are from ebay - taleb tyres. They are almost half the price of the kumhos, and just as good, if not better. I will see how they wear, brendan has had his for 6 meets, and looks no more than half worn. He locked a brake at turn1, and now now up for another pair. Went down to the wire.
Two videos from the day. It's a new camera, so haven't got the exposure settings right....apologies in advance!
The apprentice -The master -Probably more in it from Trent if it wasn't for a BIG crack on top of the centre muffler heating up the cabin (could not touch the drive tunnel) with the heat also affecting the clutch line, which ended our day. :(
Neil & Damon Choi didn't have a lot of luck on the weekend with their car overheating. Here's a clip of me chasing Damon in the Group S Alfetta

A couple out of a handful of laps I managed to do for the day, due mainly to noise issue, black flag at end of clip >:(

Great stuff Victor, thanks for posting. Yes, Mary definitely lost at least a second on that fluffed gearchange. New engine sounds great, and the acceleration is incredible, 3rd and even 4th gear don't last long.
Just one question though. If Trent is the Master, and Mary the Apprentice, what does that make you? Year 10 kid who had his homework 'eaten by the dog'?

Nice one. Victor, you set yourself up this time.
On the day, Mary called me the "Himbo" ;D
"Gofer", "Pit Crew", "Support Crew", "The-guy-who-wanted-to-drop-kick-his-new-video-camera-dude", "Drinks Boy"
All of the above! :D
No Mick, there can only be ONE Gumby! ;)
I have uploaded all my pics to my site... finally :P
Sorry about the delay but had a presentation at uni this week...

A few laps chasing the blue 105 (not sure whose?), finishing with a spin when I braked a little late for turn 1....

I like how you get a little opposite lock coming down the hill into dandenong! :)
Nah - that's just the wheel not being centred properly ;)
That Ricciardi is just a whole lot of fun.
