Title: Alfa 166 parts needed, anyone wrecking?
Post by: Mike on September 13, 2010, 02:23:20 PM
Hi,

I'm chasing assorted parts for a 166.  Give me a call on 0439003523 if you have a vehicle you are wrecking...just need assorted odd parts, like:

Steering wheel
Indicator stork asm
rear shade cloth upper trim clip
drivers door switch cluster
center console gearshift boot and plastic surround
rear lhs inner taillight lense
front and rear badge
lhs rear door central locking asm
lhs front power window winder

If you have the stuff let me know as I am grabbing this stuff over the next couple of days ready for roadworthy (ok and some stuff is just cosmetic).

Cheers
Mike

not yet, tidying it up first.  Will take some shortly.

Anyone know how interchangable the parts are with 156?

They were taking one apart when I was there the other day.  I'm not sure Marc is known for his pleasant phone manner.

sounds like they do have the bits I need, just called now.  Need to call back in the morning.  I've never had any luck getting these guys to send me anything second hand before, they say they will, but it never happens...fingers crossed this time is different, otherwise I may need to enlist a friendly Victorian to collect for me:-)

Hi Mike - didn't realise that was you I met the other day in williamstown - small world.  That air compressor I shoe-horned into the GTV had to go back again for replacement - so the GTV did another lap with one on board.

I've had a great run with Milano's over the years. Was out there on the weekend getting another batch of parts for the Super.    I know when I initially started going out there for parts - Mario and I used to trade insults over the counter arguing about which part was the right one for which car - once I got used to it - I started to look forward to the next time.  Marc I get along with particularly well - he's bent over backwards to get me parts in a hurry,  and gone the extra mile if there's been any issues with a part.

I'll probably be out there again in a fortnight.  If you like, ask him to put your stuff aside with mine and I'll ship it to you.

Cheers,

Scott Murray

Italian Job in Oakleigh are also wrecking a couple of 166's and are generally pretty competitive with prices, give them a try if you get stuck...

I can't say I have ever had a problem with Marc or Milano Spares.  I have always found them to be extremely knowledgable, friendly and all the parts I have ordered new or second hand have arrived promptly.  Ditto the costs for parts has always been most competitive.

Perhaps it is just me, but the only one I ever had trouble with re Milano was his dad, it was always difficult to understand his Italian/English.

Guys, you've all been a great help, I contacted Marc at Milanos and Hugh at Monza.  As per usual I got promt help from Marc and so have bought everything I need from him.

Scott thats very kind of you, but Mark has popped it all in a box and already shipped to me.  On the other hand there are a couple of interior parts I would especially like to get ahold of, but need someone to look at to ensure they are perfect (mine are dulled from age) so might take you up on the offer.  Perhaps if you are out there on the weekend you could give me a call and I could talk you through the couple of parts I would like to have someone look at first hand proior to purchase (0439003523).

I'm after a cream drivers seat, and bpillar mould, my seat is has a couple of marks which let the otherwise tidy car down.

Cheers
Mike
