Title: Best postage from the UK for car parts
Post by: aussiehcviva on August 31, 2010, 04:20:07 PM
Good afternoon. I've found a good source for cheapish lighweight body panels for my Alfa based in the UK. What I can't find, however, is a cheapish way to get them back to Australia. I'm in no rush so would be happy for it to go surface mail.

Does anyone have some tips on what I should use or where I should be looking?

Thanks in advance

Sea freight is the only cheap option. I think Royal Mail do sea freight, but you'd have to ensure the crate size wasn't too big for them, otherwise you'd have to use a freight forwarder.
Also ensure your parts don't cross the Australian duty/taxes threshold, sometimes it's cheaper, when duty is taken into account, to send several packages.
Another option is to find any companies in the UK that ship cars to Australia and have the panels placed inside a car. This works out quite cheap and really ensures the panels end up here in good condition.

Regards, Andrew.
