Title: Sprint GT Glovebox mechanism
Post by: dfrye on July 21, 2009, 08:05:28 PM
Anyone have a spare glovebox lock for 105 sprint GTV? The catch is worn down so the door on the glovebox keeps popping open.

It is not a latch issue but is a common problem.
There is a degree of adjustment of the door but it is not easy.
It is a bit hard to explain too. You may need to remove the glovebox casing and lay under the dash and look up. A couple of little 8 mm bolts will allow some adjustment of the glovebox lid which I think you will find has dropped slightly and allowing the latch to not catch sufficiently.
After you have the door working and latching correctly then you can re-fit the glovebox case from underneath.
I have known other methods too, by just adding a piece of bent aluminium to the catch plate at the top of the glovebox to provide move surface area for the latch to catch. But that way doesn't fix your gap variance. Gary
