Title: GTV6 Sump Plug
Post by: shane wescott on September 13, 2008, 03:05:21 PM
Quick one Guys

I am doing an oil change.

The sump plug appears to be a 27mm nut. A 27mm socket fits on it, but it is stuck big time, and I am a bit scared that maybe it is not a 27mm nut.

Anyone done one of these so you can assure me it is just tight and I need a bit more muscle.

Catch ya

Shane

That sound's about right...but from memory the hex part isn't very thick, so be carefull not to slip off, or you will stuff it! Usually has a copper or aluminium washer under it, which if in ok condition, can be reused...

Just the advice I needed Mate.

A little bit more muscle and around she went.

New filter and new oil in, GTV6 back on the road, the World is a Great Place Again :-)

Catch ya and thanks for your help

Sorry...after working on these cars for years, i've seen so many people strip them off, that you gotta use hammer and punch to spin them off, gets messy.
Anyway, good to hear your all up and running nicely! Have a good one!
