Title: New GPS Android head unit in my 159
Post by: nicb205 on May 31, 2017, 09:26:32 AM
I got around to putting a new DVD/GPS Bluetooth Android head unit in my 159 over the weekend. I stopped short of installing the rear camera.
Pretty much everything I could tuck through little holes so everything has ended up very tidy.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170530/b981395f8c85c3b5d738e801d21ab0a2.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170530/a6b579c58564724986a48b738618dc89.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170530/27d6e12c10635b1eb60011685a73e9c5.jpg)

What kind is it??  And how difficult was it to install??  Compatible with the steering wheel controls??

I guess it supersedes Blue&Me in the 159.

I've toyed with replacing the OEM Blaupunkt unit just because it's so basic and boring, but given it functions just fine it's still there.  Hardly use it anyway.

U mean an OEM sat nav?  If so then this unit wont fit.

Here is a thread about installing one:

I believe it's from a brera?
I found it advertised on gumtree.

Please view this ad:

Integration was easy as anything.
The looms provided connect the existing plugs to the new unit.
Steering controls work perfectly and you can change them if you want.

I followed that other thread about installing, but mine was easier, because I don't have the Bose amp.

So the main effort was just in routing the wires for the GPS, mic, and USB in the glove box.

The rear camera needs the bumper off so didn't attempt that.

The only thing is when I open the front doors the wrong icon shows on the screen. Haven't find a setting for that.
