Title: Diffculties with 2007 Alfa 159
Post by: Alfa Fan on July 28, 2014, 01:38:03 PM
Hello Members.

My experience with my Alfa has been so very disappointing. It lacks power at take off. However the main problem is that it looses power when I'm driving until finally it just stops. My car has been taken away on the back of a truck so many times I'm the laughing stock of the neighbourhood, my friends and family.

I love my car. It looks good, and when working performs well and has a good size boot. Unfortunately I have no confidence in taking it on trips and we are constantly having it looked at by the mechanic which involves cost and I have no 'wheels'. Today, yet again, it has been taken off on the back of a RACQ truck!

Can anyone help me with a suggestion on what the problem can be and how it can be remedied.

Thank you
Ian

Could you let us know what type of 159 . Diesel or Petrol,  4 or 6 cylinder.  Saddened to hear of your problems . 159's are beautiful cars and usually ultra reliable.

If you take it to a good Alfa Romeo Service Provider, then it should be fixed properly, if you take it to a normal service place, they don't know these cars or how to fix them, they have to have a higher level scanner, so they can plug it in to see whats causing the issues, Colin.
