I was just trolling through carsales and noticed that at the cheaper end of the scale, there seems to be an inordinately high number of diesel engined 159s for sale.
Search using:
and you get
- 23 Diesels (9 1.9L, remainder 2.4L)
9 petrols (2.2L)
Is there something of concern in higher kilometerage diesels?
Or is it simply that lots of 159 diesels were sold?
Of course, it may be the diesel cars were popular with those intending on covering higher KM and these cars are now coming on to the market as they approach 200,000km, and/or run out of lease.
I'm looking for a daily driver (35KM open highway each way to work) and thought a 159 dsl might fit the bill. Surely 150,000kms is nothing to worry about on a cared for car?
I think there's just a lot of them, supply/demand.. Lower price.
With regards longevity.. I have a 1.9 JTD 156 that I no longer need/want which just won't die (233K km).
Service and preventative maintenance are key to the longevity of any car.
