Just bought a MY09 159 2.2JTS Ti (Manual, if it means much to you) and noticed the oil will need topping up.
No oil leaks. I'll flush out the oil and top up again. But what type of oil do you use in your 2.2 JTS 159s?
It has also been sitting a while and being an Alfa, only the premium stuff of course. What brands? What viscosity? What do you recommend?
It was suggested that I use a 5W-30, because of relatively low kilometers. But wanted to confirm here. Or should I stick with 5W-40?
Hi Maltalfisti
The correct grade oil for your car is Full Synthetic Penrite 10Tenths OW -40 / Castrol Edge OW-40 /Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40. Refer to Penrite product selector or Supercheap website links below.

The CORRECT oil to use is Penrite HPR 5 5W-40 (Full Synthetic). The Penrite 10Tenths OW-40 is a suggested alternative.
The 5w40 is easily available from any auto store.
Thanks, folks. I already have some of the Penrite HPR 5 5W-40 (Full Synthetic).
Is the Penrite 10Tenths OW-40 just a premium (higher quality) version?
I specify the 10Tenths, but that's for the TBi engine and there's debate about doing this. Alfa Men use the Enviro otherwise.
What Bazz suggests is the way to go for the 2.2. I used to have one.
And 30 percent off Penrite this Easter weekend at Repco...
I used Motul 8100 X-CESS 5W-40 in my 3.2 JTS.
