Veloce Racing Association final round at Winton this weekend, 11-12 Nov.
Bruno Colautti Alfa 105
Evan Bottcher Alfa Sud
Ray Pignataro Alfa Sud
Representing Victoria against the NSW.
We had eleven Alfas racing at Winton yesterday and today as a support for the Winton 300 endurance race. Two races Saturday arvo, and two this morning. More than half the field qualified within one second of each other, making for some close racing. Fantastic fun despite the warm weather up there. Many thanks to the NSW folk who made the big trip down to organise and run a race meeting in Victoria.
Today's racing was broadcast live, and can be replayed here:

Race 3 starts about 45 minutes in, and Race 4 at about 1h50m. Excellent vision, even if some of the commentating was a bit off.
Meeting results - congratulations to Darren, brilliant driving all weekend.

Pretty sure it was 12 Alfas racing, ya dickhead.
I went up to watch the racing, it was lots of fun. Really tight racing at the front for the most part, excellent drive from the winner, cleaning up in a 2.0 twin cam Alfetta GTV, up against a very well-sorted GTV6, a nicely sorted GT (FWD 3.2 V6), and the loudest 105 GTV I've ever heard. Also good to watch the intrastate battles between Messrs Bottcher and Colautti.
It would be fantastic to see more Vic cars there though. Our quickest cars could easily take it to the NSW cars. You know who you are.......
You think CAMS / or who ever the coordinating body is could program their calendar a little better. The Historics were on at Sandown and the HSRCA was on at Sydney Motorsport Park last weekend. Including Winton there was credible Alfa turn out at all three events. Probably better than any other club in fact.
Speaking of Sydney it was great to see Spencer Rice and his mighty 2 litre 105 GTV clean up in Group N Trophy race against the 5 litre V8's.

Check Natsoft, how many Alfas raced?
12 qualified, only 11 raced. ;D
Well done to all Alfas racing over the weekend.
A couple of snippets of the starts of race 1 and 2.
Looking forward to doing one of these VRA events next year.

Love that first vid you posted there. The one with 12 Alfas coming past...... But yeah, I get the joke.
Nah you got me, I can't count (really).
Is there footage online of the Group N race in Sydney?
I uploaded some in-car last night. Race 3 is a cracker, five of us close together for most of the race.

Watch Race 3. I'm concentrating on catching Bruno Colautti (the red and yellow 1750GTV car #32) and left it wide open to be passed under brakes by Andrew Wilson. I finally get past Andrew, and I put in a scorching lap 1.42 (personal best at Winton, in a race?). Bruno spins off in front of me at just after 13m10s in the video. Great fun, with such closely matched cars.
Well done Evan and congratulations to all the competitors for an excellent display of racing.
Regards
