Title: Model Code confirmation - Series 2 Spider
Post by: JohnLW on June 01, 2020, 08:40:46 AM
Hi All,
I've requested the original details from Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo for a Spider I am looking at. Is a 1971 (or 72 - the info will confirm) 2000 original RHD which I believe is Aus delivered.
Alfa Romeo have asked me to confirm its "type code" is 105.27 - is that the correct model code for what I'm looking at?  I'm just unsure of the .27 suffix, and cannot find confirmation elsewhere.

Thanks.

There should be a plate on the firewall behind the passenger side of the cam cover with 105. xx something on it

As Per the Fusi book (which does have its short comings!),

for 1972,

2000 Spider (G.D) Guida Destra ie.Right Hand Drive is a 105.27

Ch. number range 2470079 - 2470446

Eng. number range 00512.10227 - 00512.57288

Cheers,

Paul.

Thanks everyone,
Looks as though 105.27 is correct for RHD 2000 Spider, so all good.
Chassis number looks to be in the correct range, but the engine number is not.
Regardless, I've registered the enquiry with Alfa Romeo Historico and once I pay my 30 Euro they will tell me if the numbers are correct and match.
Cheers.
