Title: rubber boots on the under bonnet wiring harness
Post by: cc on February 19, 2017, 11:39:52 AM
Hi guys
I have a 2.5L V6 156 built 2002.The under bonnet wiring harness usually has rubber boots that slips over connections. For example the rubber boot at the connector for the coil pack. See pic. Mine have perished and cracked open.
Anyone know of a supplier? May have to buy the entire harness.

Hey mate,

If it is a two pin connector, most likely it would be a Bosch EV1 female injector connector. I just bought a pack last week from my local auto store (its branded as Injectronics if I remember correctly). Unfortunately I'm not sure if you can just but the rubber boot on its own.

Most stores won't have them in stock, but can order them in for you. They around $15 for a pack of two connectors.

Personally, if the connector still works fine, I would just wrap electrical tape over the connector to stop dirt and moisture getting in. That way you only spend a couple bucks on some tape instead of a lot more if you have more than a couple to replace.

Cheers, Andrew.
