Title: Bluetooth Handsfree
Post by: 101phil on July 15, 2009, 02:19:19 PM
My MY09 2.2 159 - Doesn't have bluetooth, however on the steering wheel there is a stereo volume control that has a phone icon. So Im guessing I can dd it in easy enough.

I rang the dealer and it can be fitted for $900approx or I can go aftermarket:

But when I rang to speak to these guys he was unsure whether it would be compatible with the 09. He has fitted to 07 no drama.

Has any one fitted an aftermarket bluetooth handsfree kit and got any suggestions?

the factory BT is presumably the full 'Blue & Me' setup. as such, it is far more than just BT. it also has a USB port as an alternative music source, integrates with the MFD (multifunction display), and has voice recognition. and of course the steering wheel controls will work the system.

but sure, if you 'only' want BT, an aftermarket kit is cheaper.

Parrot would be my preferred brand, though i've heard good things about the BlueAnt brand too.

as far as i know, there were no wiring changes between the 2007 159 and 2008-onwards. so the kit should remain compatible.
