Title: check your engine warning message popped up
Post by: mrt on March 26, 2011, 05:41:08 PM
less than 1300km on the clock.
Car still drives fine, no loss of power, so hopefully nothing serious.

What model/engine type is it?

same deal on my 2010 159. check engine light appeared late Friday afternoon, stayed on all weekend, stopped the day I took it back to the dealer.
turns out it is a common fault with the lambda (oxygen) sensor in the exhaust. $650 part plus labour... glad it is under warranty! goes in this wednesday. thought I may as well get it fixed even though the check engine light is no longer appearing.

third time back in 3 months... all minor issues and I am not complaining... I knew the deal when I entered this relationship!

It's a very, very general warning, with many causes. So you really need to go to an Alfa mechanic (dealer or indy) to hook up the 'Examiner' to determine the exact error code and cause. (Or use software like alfadiag and cable.)

Thanks for the update.

All a bit odd for a new car! Sorry to hear it, but I presume it'll be fixed ASAP with minimal inconvenience?! Hope so.
