Title: Alfa 156 stock at AROCA Sandown Sprint
Post by: Neil Choi on September 03, 2017, 01:16:57 PM
Not much excitement, lots of time to sip macchiato.  Standard 156, just consistent times and matches every other times out previously but still loads of fun for what it is.

Just a side note, this was to show the load of fun that can be had without a lot of $ spent or trouble to go through.  For what the 156/147 TS is and the speed it can go at, it is pretty good value without getting too serious.

But you know, you will get serious.

Do you mind sharing you camera setup? What's the camera and more importantly, where it is secured?

Easy, GoPro3 at 1080p60 mounted with a RAM mount, 3 inch suction cup to rear passenger window, WITH TETHER to grab handle (inside joke to someone!!!).
Might try 4K next or get meself a Garmin VIRB 360 but ain't going to make me go faster, but looks better and looks count, yeah?

Or, by the way. Looking through local sprint etc. regulations, I've found that they all require a tow hook with a 40mm inner diameter. Seems like the rules out OEM tow hook. Ebay has some Chinese ones but I am afraid they won't hold up well. What are the options with a reasonable price?

Just use factory tow hook, acceptable.  That's what I use.

You're right, there seemed to be an exception for road legal cars. That's good, I can even borrow a second one from my wife's Alfa.

Pic in Pic, same car, two drivers but different days, similar lap times.

If I was sitting in the back seat I know who I would rather have driving . Very smooth Neil .
Next time the tyres or brake pads wear out you ought to show that to the boys and plead NOT GUILTY

In that case Neil shouldn't you invest in some custom built "Rhino Hide" panel covers?   ;)
