Title: Xenon headlight ballast replacement
Post by: bovalino on September 11, 2022, 04:51:18 PM
My mechanic has advised the ballast and globe have gone on my 2003 147 GTA xenon headlight. Prices for the part are around $1k plus labour to remove the bumper, classic Alfa.  As such I've had a look online to order in the part myself and install, but am keen to see how others have gone before doing my dough.

Alfa numbered Ballasts made in France are still very expensive with postage, but there are some Chinese made units with the 1 307 329 096 number for a fraction of the price (~$140 delivered). Has anyone installed a new "replica" out of China?

Also there's versions as 1 307 329 ### made for Audi, Merc etc, I've read these may still work but wanted to check if anyone has actually installed one in a 147 GTA before with success?

Cheers.
