Title: 156 Tacho stopped working
Post by: Evan Bottcher on February 28, 2009, 12:09:03 PM
Hi folks,

The tacho on the 156 has stopped working - at the same time the selespeed gear indicator does not light up when the headlights are turned on.  Strangely the gear indicator _does_ light up when the headlights are off...!  Tacho doesn't register regardless of headlights on/off.  It started immediately after we replaced a failed selespeed hydraulic pump (again).

Bruno hasn't had a chance to check it out properly - pulled the tacho out and checked the connectors on the back, and checked no fuses were gone.

Anybody experienced this one?

thanks,
Evan.

Hi Evan, there has been some discussion in another thread about replacing Sele actuators.
People have been talking about $4K
Given that you have done it recently, can I ask what it  cost to replace it?    is 4k reasonable ?

I wrote up my understanding of the difference between pump / actuator here:
