You can't base any opinion on that though, that's just a mule which looks exactly like the base car, Fiat Brava. It will look considerably different to that.
These were some earlier photo's of the 149 (2007)

I found this

Some of those sketches has Lancia'esque silly radiators. Please no! But the rest had potential
I can't understand why the 159 / Brera front concept has been canned so quickly, it is one of the meanest, most purposeful looking fronts around. Someone has to stand up against the flood of headlamps looking like Dame Edna's glasses!
Alfa Romeo should really take inspiration from their past achievements. This has some great lines to it......
I didn't know about the van. This has always been the highlight for me:

Everybody is entitled to a least one bad day
Hello, is that Mr.Pininfirina? Are you busy......oh you are. Ok thanks anyway, bye.
Hello, I am after Mr. Bertone. Oh he's not in. Thats ok we have some young up and coming designers in house should be able to handle it.
Maybe this was for the Russian export market. It looks like the love child of a Lada.
Very popular car in some markets (the green one) It was a Nissan Pulsar with a Alfasud motor. Something about model sharing like Alfa did with Volvo & Pugeot with the 164. I think some may have even found their way to Australia.
Ahh the lovely ARNA. I did meet one once in the UK. As pleasant as it's name... It was sold in some markets as the Nissan Cherry Europa!
Volvo and Peugeot had a stake in the 164? I thought it was Fiat (Croma), Lancia (something or other), and Saab (9000). I do think the 405 shares some lines with the 164 - pininfarina design?
It was known as the Type 4 project - Lancia Thema, Saab 9000, Fiat Croma and Alfa 164
Also there was a Ferrari V8 version of the Lancia Thema called the 8.32 - just thought id chuck that in
At least the Arna had an Alfa engine...........not the piss arse Nissan 4
The peugeot 605 which was sold in Europe was launched only 1 year after the 164. It was critizised for looking too much like the 164. Pininfarina got into a bit of hot water on that one as he designed both! These days I don't think they look that similar, but it was different back then when my eye's weren't used to designs like that.
I think the 605 is the better looking car, but of course it lacks the character of the alfa.
AutoExpress seems to publish pictures without any mention whether they are 'artists impressions' or official renderings...

I'm assuming these are just AutoExpress artist impressions?

So no-one would be impressed if I followed through with my plan and got a Pulsar ET and put an Alfa grill on the front?
Sheldon of course that would be impressive but not as much as an alfa 90 with an alfasud sticker on the bootlid

Maybe your on to something you could call it the Nissan Arna Ti Green Cloverleaf Quadrofoglio or how about a GTV badge on a Nissan Exa as it is a coupe and its sort of Veloce I guess.......what a brillant piece of badge engineering !

Drop a V6 in it and I would be....
Why not two? May as well turbocharge them while I'm at it I guess.
Sheldon,
You are denying the existence of your GTV in your signature? Could the rumour be true that you are in the middle of putting a 90 body shell on it?
The GTV has been passed on to a more sympathetic owner. I didn't like it, it didn't have enough doors and wasn't square enough (in both senses of the word). And I kept banging my head on the interior mirror.

yes, i mean there's nothing under the rear hatch and plenty of room between the rear wheels - maybe a transverse 3l quad cam from a 164 and gearbox driving the rear wheels and the same in the front!! plus turbos!
