Title: My New Beast
Post by: pep105 on March 08, 2011, 03:59:08 PM
G'day Punters
Heres some photos of my new Alfetta GCL. Was looking for a 75 but saw this and it was too good to pass up.
This Alfetta has a fantastic history with a caring & loving Alfa family with a lot of big ticket work conducted by Vin. Im pretty stoked
and have taken to it like a fat kid to a chocolate cake. This car brings back a lot of great memories for me so I feel like Im home at last.
Plan is to keep it pretty standard bar some suspension mods and should keep me sane while I restore the 105.
Hopefully will see some of you guys around now that I've got a road going Alfa again.
Cheers
Pep

Awesome - we had one of these in the family when I was in high school - excellent memories of trips up to the snow....    Firmly sowing the seeds of the alfisti for later on it seems.

Cheers !

Thank god you bought it Pep.....it was sooooooo tempting, I cannot begin to tell you the world of pain I'd have been in had I bought the thing.

PS. Let me know if you want to sell it :)

Well done Pep, Welcome back to the  1980's world of rubbery gear changes and a 2 foot long gear shifter. Are you going to grow a mullett again ???

Congratulations, all you need now is some roof racks!! ;D

Hey guess what I've got some, come around and pick them up before I throw them out

Talking about the 80's all you need is an undercut, with a long swooping fringe and motley crue blaring from the stereo ;D

Actually now that I think about it, you need to play Umberto Tozzi's "Ti amo" and not Motley Crue, I'm sure you've got that on your ipod next to portishead ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the responses guys. It's getting it RWC done and I should get it back tonight.

Phil - theres was a bit of pain to endure but it was worth it, wife was expecting when I first saw it advertised & I didn't dare try and look at it while wifey was pregnant........ I waited at least I dunno......7 days till after she had the baby - plenty of time for her to recover  ;)  ;D

Tuf105 - I wanted to let you down gently guess you know now ;)

Gully - those gear changes are the only way to go this is a real car where you can feel the box' innards, flappy paddles are for p**fs & soy latte drinkers :), speaking of which I never cut my mullet (parooca) as it came back into fashion circa 2003 and can put it to good use again.......

Ed - Have you been going thru my ipod as thats exactly whats on there !
Noticed you edited your post yes it was Umberto Tozzi not Toto Cutugno but doesn't matter those dudes plus the Motley will be blaring from the factory Eurovox Micro Command head unit with a pumpin 7.5 Watts per channel RMS (I think) VK Calais stereo. Don't know about blaring as one speaker works at a time depending on how you caress the volume knob.....

Thanks Ed Ill grab those roof racks they looked good on your old Alfetta Sportiva II.
