Post by: alfagtv58 on September 13, 2007, 10:41:02 AM
The Australian Historic Motor Festival at Winton is on the week after our Sandown Sprint.  Entry's close on 21st September.  I have entered ;D

I have booked an apartment at the Executive Hideaway in Benalla....if anyone is coming up to compete or just for a look and needs a bed for either Friday or Saturday night let me know as I would like to reduce the cost of this room a bit!!

The Winton AHMF is being held on 13/14 October and the meeting is an AROCA GroupS pointscore. There are 20 entries with few from north of the Murray. Entries feature a quickish Sc/Sb lineup, down to some competitors in Sa bugeyes. Racing will be conducted on a combined Sa/Sb/Sc basis with three scratch races and one handicap race (the later being started from pit lane in the interests of safety).

Both Scott Farquharson and I have entered....here's hoping for a weekend of good fun racing (and good weather!)

I have also entered the Festival of Sporting Cars meeting at Wakefield Park the following weekend, lucky I am driving a reliable marque like Alfa Romeo!!

I may be paying a visit to one of the tyre vendors there.  Have you had the RE55's in the wet yet?

Race 4 was handicap and on lap 2 another competitor put oil down on the racing line the entire circuit, so every body buttoned off.  Make no mistake, Scott walloped me!!!!!!!  He had 2 spins in Race 3 and still beat me ::)

It was a good fun weekend, Scott should be congratulated on a second outright in R2.!!!!

There were a number of people surprised by the speed of our trusty 2 litre Alfetta's.  The great thing about these cars is at the end of the race we can park them and put our feet up, there are some other Marques that spend all available time with spanners in their hand!

Great weekend - and the Alfa's kicked some serious butt.  We won't be as competitive at Sandown but roll on Phillip Island Classic 2008.

The stripes really give your car zing, Phil!  It's obvious how much when sitting next to Scott's car.  Where are your Le Mans stripes Scott?

Bloody beautiful mate.

Yeah c'mon Scott, lift your game.  Too much time spent making it go fast, and not nearly enough making it look the business.

yes the white suit is quite "bogane" (pronounced bow-garn) - that is, the thinking man's bogan......I probably need a V8 or a Ferrari to be able to carry it off....
