Hi Alfa Team
Has anyone been able find the Grey weave fabric for the early 75?
Look at getting one recovered.

Further to 75 grey fabric, any sugestions for cleaning the roof lining material?
Colin.
Don't wash it in the washing machine. Whilst it comes out beautifully clean it also shrinks.
Mmmmm...........the 75 is not a big car, but fitting it in the Simpson is unlikely!! :)
Once you remove the backing and all the degraded foam it actually fits quite well in a domestic washing machine and it certainly came out nice and clean. Perhaps if you stretched it when drying it could still work.
Hi GTV,
Thanks for the advice.
Car has a sunroof. Could the sun roof cut out be an issue if machine washing?
Not sure. Mine didn't have a sunroof but it still has a cut out in the centre for the overhead light console which is probably similar to a sunroof cut-out. The washing machine approach certainly cleaned the fabric nicely. My only mistakes (3) were not stretching the fabric whilst drying to prevent shrinkage; using an insufficiently strong spray adhesive (in hot weather it has come away in places); and the new foam I used (between the board and the fabric) was open cell foam and not up to the task. It looked good initially but has degraded too quickly with heat. If I did the job again I would probably try a product like dynaliner which I have had great success with on the floor. It is available in a thin 1/8in size designed for behind door skins which should work well in this instance and cope with the heat.
You can see where I had to cut it around the centre console area because it had shrunk. Not a big issue in that area as the console covers most of it anyway but some of it is exposed and hard to see in this image but where the sun visors go you can see the foam backing where the fabric had shrunk.
Apologies to the OP for the thread hijack. I don't have any idea where to get the grey fabric from sorry. I just replaced my front seats with black leather ones from a 156 and love them but they are obviously not very original. Look good though and are comfy.
post a pic of the 156 seats in the 75, sounds interesting.
