Title: Alfa 75 gear box clunky
Post by: Alfamania on March 12, 2013, 03:59:37 PM
hey guys,

I just wanted to ask if all Alfa 75's rear gearboxes are a bit clunky or feel loose in the back especially after a gear change and you are about to use throttle? gearing down as well? It feels like the the tailshaft is loose from the gearbox but it isnt if you know what i mean? Any comments would be appreciated, it just doesnt feel smooth in the back especially when driving in a higher gear but doing slower speed thanks guys

Sorry hard to answer your question without seeing the car, but my first thought would be a stuffed gearbox mount (located on clutch housing), or rear gearbox/diff mount.

I suggest if you are very concerned, you take it to an Alfa Specialist rather than driving it and potentially causing more damage to the other components in the drive line.

Cheers!
