Title: Request: Accumulator Thread Details
Post by: Citroënbender on February 08, 2018, 10:10:57 PM
Can anyone advise, please, of the thread specs for the Selespeed accumulator as fitted to 147/156 models? (I'm not sure if this is the same as later units.)

I want to make up an adaptor for a Citroën sphere tester.

Hi, my default address for Fleabay is in the UK, it helps sniff out stuff we miss otherwise on the Oz site.  :)

Skip to about 8:30 or so for the informative part to begin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw7dfCbt0Hc

It's possible to quickly test any nitrogen accumulator like this (Benz suspension, Landcruiser ride height, RR, Jag, SMG boxes, etc), all one needs is the correct adaptation.  If you're parting out a car or it arrives DOA, this test doesn't require powering up the whole system.

I can butcher a Citroën sphere by cutting its threaded base off, as I already have the fitting to receive it.  Into its centre I can then drill and tap to fit the Alfa/Fiat item, provided I know the thread.  I'm guessing it will be M21×1,5 as that is probably the most expensive metric tap on sale...

For the record, it appears to be as for 14mm threaded spark plugs: M14x1,25

I'll confirm this soon as practicable.
