Title: replacing the rubber inlet pipe
Post by: cc on June 03, 2019, 11:05:36 PM
Hi
Has anyone found a way of replacing a split air intake pipe for a CF1 engine?
Its no longer available from A-R.
The UK suppliers of after market equivalents are too long.
See pic of the old one. Note the black goo used to plug a split.
cheers CC

Have you seen this one?

...or you could go with a silicone hose with a bit of fiddling around (Viper do a nice aluminium take off for the secondary hose).

I used heavy duty electrical tape to cover up a split on mine for about a year (stretched tight all way round the outermost ring), worked a treat til I could get a replacement.

In an Emergency/short term I use "Rescue Tape", more commonly known to most as Silicone Tape.

It is impervious to all fuels and oils, never dries out or go gluey, and stretches to activate it to seal.

Basically goes on, stays put and looks decent for a repair.
