Gday All, just getting round to dealing with soft old struts on Nuova 33. But coming across differences in serial no's/types as follows:

Figured the left/right thing...but
Question is, 1/ what does the letter after the top number mean? why is one 'o'? What is 'o', What is 'c' ???
2/ What are the numbers at the base of the info stampings? Travel of/length of strut rod??? Spring rates???
Will be putting the matched pair off the spares car (only done 78 000) on the road car, but would like to decifer what the difference is with the ones on it already...
Any help would be much appreciated..
Cheers, Phil
PS: the LHS front road car unit has a different bump stop rubber to the others, has a orange foam type of unit and is longer, than the others which have a hard black rubber cone...
Hi Phil , I have no information handy regarding the codes BUT .. i know that Toperformance (major Koni distributor) would have a fair idea because they supply Koni replacement stuts/shocks for the 33. So maybe try contacting them through www.toperformance.com.au and forward them the info that you are displaying here .
Good luck ,
Martin
Yes, spoken to Toperformance. Had Koni inserts in sud for years. Conflicting info regarding having inserts available for my Vin. No. 33 16V, re the info in their online catalogue.
Units have to be sent in, cut open, have insert with bolt attachment at base and re welded top screw section.
First said yes, they are available and gave a price, then said no they're not.....
Hi Philpot,
I purchased my Koni inserts for a late series II from Proven Products in NSW. These guys used to make the Koni shock for motorcycles until they bought the rights a few years ago. Try them as they are also a distributor and seem to know a lot and may be able to help.
Good luck
Andrew
