Title: Transaxle Sensors
Post by: Davo416 on April 15, 2021, 04:16:58 PM
Hi People - I have an '82 GTV6 imported from South Africa and I assume it has the original transaxle in place.

It does seem to have an extra sensor of some sort installed (i.e. in addition to the standard speedo and reversing light switch)

Interested if anyone can shed some light on this - the transaxle is out of the car now so ripe for further investigations!

It's a neautral switch. Haven't seen them on an Aussie Gtv6 that I can recall but mostly on late model 4 cyl cars. Possibly used for S.A emissions regs?

Probably some reg that required the car to be in neutral before you could start it.

Interesting stuff - thanks for the input guys. This one is from an injected 2.5 V6 but I don't think the sensor was connected when I stripped things down!

I have a Twinspark LSD box to refurb and drop in at some stage in the project so this one will ultimately be a spare...

Cheers
