Title: 159 Wiper Blades
Post by: Stu159 on August 28, 2017, 10:43:38 AM
Hi all,

Need to replace the wiper blades on my 159 and Alfa dealers have no stock in Sydney. I want to make sure the look is the same as the OEM ones. Can anyone recommend the best ones to replace them with, so that they don't look dramatically different please? Failing that I have to import from Italy, 6-8 weeks run around. Seems the main ones are Valeo or Bosch in my on line searches

Thankyou

Last set of wiper blades (Bosch) for my 159 were purchased from Italian Automotive Spares in Brunswick (Melbourne).
Easy to install, good quality and work well at high speed!

Hi Stu159
If you have no luck with supplier at Brunswick, try E-bay for Bosch units at the following link. Just check compatibility with your vehicle.

Problem is that none of the Aerotwins fit properly.  I have Valeo at the moment and they don't fit properly either; the wiper arm sticks up slightly from the blade.  So you either use OE (if you can get them) that fits sweetly onto the wiper arm, or Bosch with superior rain dispersal properties but having to tolerate a universal adaptor (I have these on my Benz and they aren't the best look), or you get Valeo as a compromise.

If you ordered OEMs from a dealer, surely they would get here under a week.

all good. I spoke to a dealer who said 6-8 weeks, they'd have to order them from Italy ::)
My mechanic got OEMS for me locally, within a day as it turns out.
Big difference in the look of OEM's and the alternatives and the look is important for me

Thanks for the feedback everyone

Just had B16 shocks fitted all round, in addition to the Powerflex Bushes (complete set) I've had done recently. Handles like it did new again now, but those Powerflex bushes are noisey. The stance has always annoyed me and now I love it. No scraping issues on speed humps either which is surprising

Hi Kaleuclint,

I haven't had them fitted yet, but I'll get to that this week & let you know. The supplier is in Sydney and he's a regular contact for my mechanic. I'll grab the details for you.

The quote from the dealer - McCarrolls Artarmon, was $140, but as noted, they didn't have them in stock

Get back to you soon
Stu

so, as it turns out Kaleuclint, my mechanic's contact didn't deliver them and I'm now waiting on the OEM's to arrive from Italy  :(
