Title: Carburettor service kits, genuine or non genuine?
Post by: Lindsay_palmer on October 18, 2015, 02:45:05 PM
I'm looking at service kits for my dellorto Carburettors, found the two below,

http://www.dellorto.co.uk/shop/dellorto-car-carburettors-parts/parts/service-kits-gaskets-sets/dhla-genuine-service-kit-for-2-carbs/

http://www.dellorto.co.uk/shop/dellorto-car-carburettors-parts/parts/service-kits-gaskets-sets/dhla-40-budget-service-kit-for-two-carbs/

Anyone had any experience with these kits, is the genuine kit really worth twice as much as the non genuine?

you will find that there are 4 different accelerator pump diaphrams
which are quite specific to the type model of carby
also the materials are quite different making the volume sprayed different .
go genuine then you know its the right thing

mate,

Give Thornbury Carbs a call, they'll have kits there which will cost less that then ones you have listed.
Plus they'll be able to advise on the correct accel pump diaphragms as per Carlo Rossi's reply.

Plus they're local and if you have any issues with the KITS you can go back and speak to someone face to face.
