Title: Looking for 1.8l crank from Alfetta or Giuliette
Post by: branko.gt on June 19, 2006, 06:35:32 PM
If you have a crank from an Alfetta or later 1.8l engine taking up your space I'll be happy to take it off your hands. I may even be inclined to pay good money for it if i have to.

Seriously, I'm looking for a crank or a whole engine, 1.8l.

With that many of Giulettas with fancy engines going around race tracks someone should have a spare 1.8l engine sitting somewhere.

Anyone?

I found a Giuliette engine and so I am no longer looking for a crank.

Branko,

I assume you are aware that an Alfetta crank may not mate to a 105 gearbox if it doesn't have the pilot hole cut in the end of the crank ?  It's easy enough to have it machined, but usually not cheap to do as the cranks are H A R D !!!

That was an advice I got from Vince, to look for a later crank,  presumably drilling a pilot hole would be cheaper then nitrating my old crank!
From what a read on the web this pilot hole business is a bit of a lottery as some are apprently drilled and some are not.
Even on TS that is apparently the case.

I ahve not had a chance to take it appart to have a look if I am a lucky winner or not!  ;)
