Anyone know if this is going ahead this year? Want to lock the date in.
Yep, 19 November, according to last club newsletter.
No more details yet though.
Cheers mate. Will pencil it in.
Silly me....I should have just looked

:)
Navigator booked in :D
Also seeing if I can get the GTV sounding nice for the run (see exhaust thread in 916 section)
Anyone else planning to attend?
Assuming I don't get committed elsewhere that day, I plan to. Last year was a hoot, chasing through Perth hills.
Yeah because I'd been 4 years in a row, last year I only went to the opening meet point to perve at the exotics, and then followed the cruise for a bit before getting lost and then peeling off for a pub lunch with a mate.
Always good fun no matter how you join.
Going the hole hog this year again as I'll be bringing a Pasta Run virgin with me.
That reminds me.....I did a "directors cut" edit of my 2012 video. Took out the music and just left the engine sounds.....

I still have footage from 2015 to shop together lol. Was too busy driving that year though. Had both the Silver GTV and the Silver 147 there, with my and 1 son in the GTV, and the wife and the other son in the 147. Great fun for the whole family :D
I've been informed this is a members only event this year, which gives me a good excuse to get that sorted :D
I've just confirmed I'm doing the run, but won't be staying around for the meal. Hope to see you there.

Great stuff. What are you driving? I'll make a point of saying hi.
Paid my membership and I'll be booking meal tickets this week :D
Have also done up the promotion video for them using the footage from previous years, so look out for that ;)
Look forward to seeing the video. Haven't decided which car yet, generally take the GTV on things like this, but haven't taken my current 156 on any club runs yet, and I do like stretching her legs in the country. Might depend on whether the GTV feels like getting out of bed that morning! Regardless, I will make sure to say g'day and check out that new exhaust of yours.

And the weather of course ...
haha i know what you mean.
The GTV is the pick of the day for me, but randomly the clutch plays up a little (pedal feels like it hits metal), but most of the time it's fine.
So the 147 is on standby LOL.
Well I had a blast! Got lost about 4....5.....6 times haha.
Was great to meet you finally Poohbah. Thanks for taking the time to say hi.
Kind of lost everyone at the lunch venue and ended up sitting with 2 nice gentlemen from the Fiat Lancia club who were there in a Maserati.
I wont be cutting the video I took for a few weeks yet but I may be able to upload some photos in the next few nights.
For now, now that the event has passed, I can share on here the intro video I cut, that was distributed to the Alfa Club (I think) and the Ferrari club.

Given the event was club members only, I purposely didn't make the promo publicly available pre-event.
Footage is of course from past events.
Cheers Chris, was good to meet you in person.
Was a good fun event, and you weren't the only one who got lost - it seems that owners of Italian cars are the worst navigators!
After the first half hour, I counted at least three T junctions where people supposedly following each other chose to turn in opposite directions!
It was only when I stopped following people, went back to the printed "directions" and checked google maps that I hooked back up with a 1750 and four Fezzas that were on the right course.
Looking forward to seeing the video when you get it complete.
Well the good thing about getting lost was, at one point that positioned us behind the F40 for a good stint.
We then ended up behind the Mondials and 308 and followed them for about 15 minutes before we realised they were no longer on the run. They were peeling off and going home. haha.
From there we found ourselves in convoy with a Lamborghini Hurricane. They were not part of the run at all, but made for some more good footage.
Highlights car wise for me on the day include:
Ferrari Daytona.
Ferrari F40.
La Ferrari.
....and knowing I had the cheapest car at the event :D
"Wow that is nice. The paint looks amazing".
....yes....from right over here, yes it does :)
Oh also, it was great to the the Alfa GT in Black over Tan with the V6 manual. Wonderful car and the exact combination I would be after if I chose one in the future.
Wonderful looking car so it is great to see that there is one in Perth.
Did you get any footage of the white '80s GTV6 with the 3.2 24V Busso under the bonnet and Delta Integrale rims? My pick of the day...
I did indeed. Not much but some car park footage including under the bonnet.
This one..
That's the one. Had a long chat with the owner. He was going to put a 164 motor in a GTV6 himself, but came across this 3.2 already done, so decided to save himself the trouble. What a beast, especially like the integrale rims.
Look what I found on my phone.....
On occasion when I meant to be taking video, i hit the photo button by mistake ;)
Nice - you even made it look shiny... ;D
Editing has begun ;)
Well actually it began a while back but I've been busy. May try and get the bulk done this weekend.
Cool. Waiting with great anticipation!
Ooooooh almost there.....
Need to tidy up some bits, make it a tiny bit shorter, and then smooth out the audio....and then it's done.
Bit of an "epic journey" video. 2.5 hours worth cut down into hopefully 20 entertaining minutes.
