Title: 156 compression test
Post by: 105greg on July 04, 2019, 03:32:34 PM
Have just done a compression test on a JTS engine.  Came in at.  155. 155 155. 180.  Can any folk tell me how these values compare to others who have also tested.  Cheers

Shouldn't be too different to a TS engine, if the tests were carried out correctly you have most likely a head-gasket sealing issue. From memory I've seen 180-210 on my TSs.

Ouch.   That's not good.    I will have another crack at it but did seem odd that only one cylinder 180.   Fairly sure no head gasket issue.   Motor has done 160 000 km ,  Have driven the car briefly as Is unregistered and seemed to be going ok .  I acquired the car for a case so all is not lost.    Cheers.

It could simply be mistimed, too.
