Gurgling in the fuel tank

Is the fuel "boiling"? Have you checked the temperature?
Fuel that is vapourised *before* it goes through the injectors would probably lead to a lean mix too.

Well it is summer but the car has been sitting in the garage so nothing unusual there

Still working my way through this.  I have reinstalled the lift pump and surge tank into the boot, so should not have any issues there.  I will do some testing on the weekend to see if any air is getting into the system.  But question comes to mind.  Has anyone ever had any injector related issues?  As in what happens to them when they fail/leak/get old.  Is there a seal in the injector body that might go? They were pulled out and cleaned about 2 years ago, but the car does sit a bit so might have grown something.
