Hi All,
I have bought a alfa 164.
The first couple of days have been good, no major headaches so far.

Things do do: oil sender fixed
how to remove the old electric seats, not working?
speedo its occasionally working at best? will use gps in short term
Needed to buy a steering rack any got one please let me know this one is leaking a bit
                     that will do for now.
I'm liking the 164 but tuning circle is a bit crap. I found out at the airport carpark (picture austin powers in a golf cart)

Hi alphie
the seats might be just jammed. I got my sons 164 seats going again by levering a big screwdriver in between the mechanisms while activating the switch.
cheers Joe

Welcome to the businessmans express  :)

Have you tried unclipping the power connections under the seat and applying 12 volts direct?

A jump starter with wires is useful for this

I have had a lot of 164s and electric seats are reliable, usually a power supply problem or jammed motor, when you use the seats to their maximum up/down, front/back always bring them back a touch to avoid jamming

Speedometer problems are usually the sender unit

Rack leaks are common, I have plenty in stock

Yes the turning circle is not great, but you get used to it, it makes up for it in on road handling, great handling track for car size

Put up some pictures if you get a chance   ;)

VeeSix,

That is a picture of a left hand drive 164. Wouldn't be too many LHD 164s in Australia I imagine? :)

VeeSix

Yes I have never seen one personally, could not imagine anyone would import one as there are so many 164s here  :)

Thank you Joe and Vee Six .
Guys, which wire under the seat moves it forward so I can remove the 2 back bolts?
I am going to put in my Recaros.

The speedo is making "a motor grrrrr sound" then it stop's and the sound gets louder and
starts working, I've checked it with my GPS and it spot on e.g.; 100kph is 100kph

cheers guys love the pics :)

There's not that many connections there just supply power and earth to them and see what moves, reverse the wires to go the opposite direction

What sort of Recaros do you have, 164 optional originals or aftermarket units?

I have had a lot of 164s and can not say I have ever heard any noise as you mention coming from the speedometer, maybe the speedometer has a problem not the sender, great to hear that when it's working its reading spot on  ;)

howdy,
Hope you all had a great father day.
I went for a two hour walk come back and played with the CAR its taken some time of going round in circles but I got the bloody seat working of sorts. So I have the green and black wires so I can move the
seat forward. Put the two black wires on the + of the battery and the two green wires on the - the only
problem is that the seat also raisers on the way back and lowers moving forward.

Also tackled, I found someone had put foam behind the dash, not sure why.
So I put in another cluster but still got the tick sound bloody thing.
A good mate said it might be a earth problem.

Hope you had a good fathers day, catch you later.
