Had a great run with your folks and their new Guilia Super on the weekend as well.

I think that was Evan's in-Laws, Ed's dad (Gordon) still got his Green 105 Berlina and a nice 166.

We were talking last night at Melbourne club night how the GTV6 is likely to be the next 105 in terms of desirability to find a good one, and long term value.

I reckon the Alfetta GT is (was) the 'next 105', but that ship may have already sailed unfortunately.  But other than that I agree, I can't see GTV6 prices falling any further, they are almost guaranteed to rise from here on in, in my humble opinion.  That said, you can still get a 'good' 105 for the price of a 'very good' GTV6.

you can take her up to 4000 rpm through there and generate that instant GTV6 smile :-)

I'll assume you mean 'take her up over 4000rpm.....'   These engines are great everywhere, but over 4000 they really start to sing.  And then when you put a 3 litre in there, hooo baby......

Sorry Guys.

Got the Real relations and the Dick relations mixed up.

And Yes Sheldon, I did mean to say over.

Hatching a plan to potentially Super Charge mine as part of a future rebuild, but if it changes the engine note for the worse it will be ripped of quicker than you can say "fuel injection" :-)

Come over any time Shane (or Eddie) and try my 3 litre 90. I'm sure you'll be convinced that it's more than enough torque for a road car.  And you can also compare the noises they make.

With the prices of 164s at the moment, I'm convinced it's the way to go.  If you're going to put any effort or money into a V6, make it count; make it the 3 litre.  Especially for a road car, the extra torque in a light car is phenomenal.

MD

Sheldon, I naturally have to agree with you. The sound of the 3 litre under load on full song stands the hairs up on the back of my neck. I get a pipe bulge in the jeans and I don't even smoke  ;D but the best part is when your cheeks meet your ears milliseconds after you put the hammer down. It's the engine the GTV6 should have had if it wasn't for the fuel crises lingerings at the time. It's the prefect combo.

I had dreams of a prefect combo in year 12.  And years 9 through 11.

MD

I got more problems than that. I am still in year 12 and been there for the last 30. ;D ;D

thanks Steve,
It is presentable but a long way from looking as good as your GTV6.  We live nearby each other so keep an eye out for the silver ghost.
i might even have to get back seriously onto the club committee so that i can be sure there are enough club day drives on the 2012 calendar.

Hi Ed

Yep definitely will be on the lookout for you. It's been a bit lonely in these parts since Chris sold his GTV6 earlier in the year. That said i've lying lower than normal this year, due to a blown head gasket. I was hoping to get to the pasta run today in celebration of getting back on the road but getting organized to go to Africia tonight killed that idea.
