are you thread monitor for this week ? :P

I thought we were doing that job jointly this week?

One could argue that the thread title could be more accurate.  I'm not sure it was intended as a free for all on the event.

Looks like Colin missed the top ten by 1 tenth of a second in the prologue- a top effort given the gremlins before the start.

Good luck Colin we are all cheering for you to beat the Datto!

What a great result so far Col. There is some serious tallent behind you there.
All you other jerks lets zip it. Colin will tell us really what Targa is like when he gets back. Right now I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be.

Hey Sheldon my apologies to you and to Colin et al, I certainly didn't mean to hijack the thread if this is what I did.  I will butt out !!  and I look forward to hearing more of the good stuff about their event. :)

I pity the poor buggers who have to play basketball (or whatever the courts for) in there after a few dozen classic cars have 'marked their territory' on the floor!

And yes, good luck Colin and any other Alfa drivers running!

Quick update.  Just noticed that the Giulia Super (Norm Henry's) is running afterall.  Good to see, one more Alfa to cheer on.  Also just checked the Targa site.  No times posted yet as stages are still running.  Probably later this arvo.

Byrne/Stoopman 10th equal after day one, great going.  Looks like a few stages were cancelled, but don't know why.  Anyone know a good targa news site?

Hello all
Well we made it back, just! My intention was to give a bit of an update each night but we had a huge amount of mechanical trouble each night and were working our asses off just to stay in the comp, we broke exhausts, multiple suspension failures, multiple radiator problems and issues with the axles.  Amazingly we managed to just scrape though every special stage without having to slow down much.  It was an awesome event really well run this year with no stages being downgraded.  Luckily it finally rained in the last 2 days which took a lot of load of the car otherwise I'm not sure if we would have rolled into Hobart last night.  But we did, got another targa trophy for completing every stage in the specified trophy time and managed to get a class win this time.  Thanks for all your interest and words of encouragement I'll try and write an article for C&S with some of the gory details,  but time for a bit of rest now cos I am totally stuffed, Targa really is an endurance event!!!

Thanks guys

Well done mate.   Awesome result, you're an inspiration.  What class would the 90 be in?
