Any ideas on how I manually raise my electric window without the supplied tool?
It looks like a socket with an extension should work but I cant work out the required socket size.

Rob,

I had a look at mine once (when the switch wasn't working) and I thought it looked like the handle needed to have a gear on the end of it. Could be wrong though.

The switches are pretty dodgy, so if you're having problems and don't know what's causing it, pop them out and clean them and the connectors. Even wiggling the toggle as you press it helps.

You need a handle with a cog on the end - it's not a simple cog either, but one with teeth on an angle. It's probably best you find this, most mechanics that specialise in the older alfas should be able to get you one. I'm in the middle of trying to fix mine, discovered there's a nut missing on one of the bolts holding the electric motor in place. Apparently as soon as the electric motor is slightly misaligned (in this case because only one nut/bolt holding it in place instead of two), there is too much resistance and the window won't go down - it will still go up  ???. Putting silicone in the runners also helps. I tried cleaning the contacts at the switch end... it may have helped, not sure.
