Wheel Alignment serivce in Melbourne

Just wondering where do you guy have the wheel alignment done? I am a bit hesitate to use those normal tyre shop.

I can recommend Stuckey Tyres in Brunswick as the alignment techo had previously worked for an Alfa Romeo specialist and knew exactly what to do with Alfas.

Strangely, he stated that even though the car was aligned by the book, a minor adjustment had to be made to match the 164.  Never heard it happening before but the car drove very nicely.

Wheel alignment is not rocket science. A large number of cars (and most Alfa's) are not adjustable in camber, so we are only really talking about toe adjustment. However, rear wheel alignment has a surprisingly large effect on the handling of front wheel drive cars. At one stage I experimented with my 164 and I could turn it from a wooden feeling slug into something that felt very nimble simply by adjusting the rear toe. Wherever you go, make sure you get all 4 wheels aligned. In our workshop we get best results from alimunium bars & strings (like the race teams use). The electronic equipment simply makes the operation faster and more profitable.  Its more about the operator than the equipment. My local tyre guy is very good - he does some of my cars and I trust Lance Dixon for the 159 / Brera. You need to assess the person.
