Choosing a 159 - JTD ti vs JTS ti

Hi everyone.
I'm after some thoughts about these two cars.

I'm wanting something sporty and that's why I'm opting for the "ti" version and minimum 2.4 litre displacement.
It must be auto though as my wife will drive it and she's not licensed for a manual.

Last cars were MY99 Peugeot 306GTi (a real driver's car and very fun!), and more recently, a MY10 Honda Odyssey (handles like a boat but was practical).
We no longer need a wagon (or the 7 seats) and so we're wanting something more fun again.

JTD's seem more plentiful and cheaper to purchase but I'm worried it won't be as much fun as the more powerful and rev-friendly JTS. And let's not forget that Alfa V6 sound!
The JTD may be more tuneable though because it has a turbo (the Pug guys in the UK would have great fun tuning their "tractors").
In the end, if I could get something as fun as my old 306GTi but in a more family friendly package, I would be happy.

Will be test driving this week but would welcome your thoughts on the two cars listed.
