Hi to Each and Every New Member,
Your AROCA (Vic) committee are very pleased that you have become club members this year. You may have seen a section in either the July Newsletter or the web site concerning our recent Online Meeting for New Members. Although numbers were small, we had a most successful meeting, and it was simply fantastic to hear the stories from the new members about their cars or their fathers taking them to car races in the 70’s or whatever.
We are planning to hold a second Online meeting for those who joined in the period to June 30th this year. Certainly, we would prefer to meet you in person, but at present there simply are no guarantees that this will happen as intended. Please keep a lookout for information which will give you a chance to meet others face-to face later this year.
Here is our plan:
Our second Online meeting for New members will therefore be done online via Zoom. The date we have chosen is September 22nd at 7:30pm. We require you to register your intention to take part by emailing me at membership@alfaclubvic.org.au so that you can be sent the ‘invitation’ to join the meeting at that time.
This is how we will do it:
It would seem reasonable for you to be introduced to members of the committee and for the president to talk about the club, but it would seem just as important for as many as possible of the members attending to make a contribution. We hope you will enjoy the chance to interact with other New Members. I’m sure it would be interesting to find out such things as –
- What prompted you to join the club?
- Why you like Alfa Romeo cars?
- What car(s) do you own?
- Would you consider taking part in a Sunday Drive?
- Whether you are already a motor sport enthusiast?
- What type of club activities would you like to take part in?
Furthermore, it has been plain for me to see that some of the New Members have joined with modern Alfa Romeos. We would like you to become fully informed about how the club can help you improve your Alfa Romeo experience, be it servicing your current car or purchasing your next car.
To the considerable number who have bought an early Alfa Romeo that you wish to restore or just give your car heaps of TLC, we are very keen to help you locate skilled competent Alfa people from within the club to help you get the results you are looking for.
I hope you will consider this opportunity, and if possible, join us for at least some of the time on September 22nd.
