AROCA (Vic) Goldfields Chapter Run – Ballarat to the Pyrenees Sunday August 28th 2022
It used to be a yearly excursion for the Goldfields Chapter to visit Warrenmang Resort in the Pyrenees wine region. But since that establishment’s demise, apart from a trip to the Blue Pyrenees Estate a few years back – a visit to the region has been a long time between drinks (so to speak).
So, for our long overdue return, we have arranged a trip to the renowned Summerfield Winery for lunch, taking in a visit to the historic Maryborough Railway Station and the Avoca Riverside Market along the way on Sunday 28th August.
9.00 am – Meet at the Old Ballarat Cemetery carpark at the roundabout at the northern end of Drummond Street. (Drummond/Macarthur St intersection)
9.15 am – Drive to Maryborough via Clunes and Craigie to the Maryborough Railway Station to meet with northern Goldfields and other Alfisti for coffee and tyre kicking at 10am.
10.45 am – leave for Avoca and the Avoca Riverside Market for some browsing, buying and banter with the locals.
12noon – Drive to Moonambel and the Summerfield Winery for lunch at 12.30pm.
A visit to another Pyrenees winery could be on the cards after lunch.
Please notify Leon at firstname.lastname@example.org asap so we can secure the booking at Summerfield.
Note: Bookings will CLOSE on 21st August, or earlier if it is already booked out!
So, don’t delay or you may be disappointed!
