Alfesta 2018 SYDNEY (29 March – 2 April)
Alfesta is the annual gathering of Alfisti from all over Australia, traditionally held over the Easter long weekend.
Each year, a different state Club of AROCA hosts the event. Alfesta 2018 will be based around Sydney, NSW.
Come along and enjoy the annual national AROCA members’ Easter weekend, hosted this year by AROCA NSW. Alfesta is for all club members, including children. We are planning the usual show ‘n shine; a luncheon drive, harbour cruise including dinner, The Ray Sharp observation run and ending with the formal presentation dinner.
Auto Italia Canberra – Drive to Canberra
Saturday 14th April
Many members and friends will be travelling to Canberra for Auto Italia 2018 and this will be an excellent opportunity to all meet up with fellow Alfisti at the start of the Hume Freeway and participate in a group drive to Canberra.
Start: 7.30 am. Light breakfast prior to 8.00 am departure.

We will be heading to Trentham with a short break for coffee and a snack (or refreshments of your own choice) at Meredith.
This promises to be an enjoyable drive over a variety of Alfa Romeo-friendly roads.
Lunch, at a cost of $35, will be a 3-course Sunday Roast at The Pig & Whistle in Trentham.
The Club will be holding a workshop visit to Mauceri Motors. All Alfisti welcome but our theme will involve a tech night focusing on the famous Alfa V6 Busso engine.
There will be modern cars on display including Alfa GT, 147 GTA & 156 GTA models. This is your best opportunity to discuss possible purchase, improvement or obtain servicing advice.

Sunday Morning Drive – East of Melbourne Adventure

The 105 Series Register Captain Gary Pearce has organized another popular Sunday drive east of Melbourne. All members are welcome.

Workshop Visit to Art on Wheels – Saturday 21st April.
Due to the enthusiasm of our members we will be again holding another Workshop Visit for those interested in purchasing, maintaining or restoring a classic Alfa Romeo.
Location: Art on Wheels, Factory 2, 11 Pilgrim Court, Ringwood. Time: 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm.
Due to the usual constraints with a Club Visit, we aim to offer members the maximum benefit of this experience. It is therefore essential that we have bookings with a limit of 30. Please book as a matter of courtesy.
Vyvian Hirons will be our host and their business will be exclusively open for our member and new members always welcome to attend.
For something a little different to the usual club outings, a visit has been arranged to the RAAF Museum at Point Cook which contains an amazing collection of aircraft that have contributed to the history of the RAAF since its inception as the Australian Flying Corps which had its birthplace at Point Cook.
The display ranges from replicas of a Bristol Boxkite and a 1910 Deperdussin monoplane, to a Tiger Moth, a Vampire jet, Supermarine Walrus, a Catalina flying boat, a Sabre jet, a F-4E Phantom and a swing-wing F111, and so many more. There are a number of hangars to check out, all of which contain significant aircraft or memorabilia.
Invitation to owners of all 932 Series owners’ cars (156, GT, GTV and Spider, 166 and 147) as well as owners of any other Alfa Romeo and their friends of course. Everyone is welcome.
Club VP, Sam Tartaglia, has come up with an entertaining drive that will start in Nunawading and finish at the Toolangi Tavern. Along the way the drive will take in Pheasant Creek, Flowerdale and Glenburn, and maybe even a few other places that Sam has discovered in the area.
This drive will include a good variety of Alfa Romeo-friendly roads and the very real possibility of venturing into some previously unexplored territory, at least to some club members anyway.

Following the success of last year’s very successful Cuore Sportivo weekend, which took in the North East of the state, Ari Semertzidis has come up with a weekend tour that will take participants into Central Victoria; exploring the treasures and adventures around Nagambie.
Whether you are bringing along your brand new Giulia QV, your Stelvio or your classic 105, all models are welcome, as long as you bring the beating heart of an Alfa Romeo with you.
Make sure you book in to enjoy what promises to be a great weekend tour of country Victoria, with enough for every enthusiast driver’s needs.
Club nights are held on the second Wednesday of each month (with the exception of January) at Bells Hotel located at 157 Moray St, South Melbourne and starting at 8pm with procedures relatively informal, usually consisting of reports from committee members, updates, news, buy/swap/sell and quite often feature a guest speaker.

Claude Botti, Register Captain for the 116 and 160 Series Alfa Romeos, has organised an “Alfetta Display” and Show ‘n Shine event at his Pantry Fresh Deli in Clayton South.
An invitation is extended to all owners of Alfetta Sedans, Coupes (both 4 cylinder and V6 Busso), Alfa 90 and 75, SZ Coupes and RZ Spiders, including Twin Spark, to be part of this event.
All club members and/or owners of any of the above Alfa Romeos are welcome.
Club President Mandy Thompson has put her hand up to organise a Sunday Drive from Tooradin to Corinella on the Western Port coast and invites club members to enjoy a pleasant day out with fellow club members.

This drive will be over a range of roads (All 4C FRIENDLY we’re assured) and will include a short break to relax and enjoy a coffee and whatever other refreshments take your fancy at the Kernot Food & Wine Store.
