Hi All,

I finally got my baby back on Thursday after having not driven for nearly 2 weeks!

Thought i'd share the issues.

a) it was a crank angle sensor that was preventing the engine from firing.
b) the ABS and VDC failures were due to a faulty brake light switch.

Anyway - $704 later and my Gt is back in action. Can't say I'm happy about the price but thats the way it went this time.

For those of you who are interested, the parts through my alfa specialists cost:
$220 - crank angle sensor
$60 - brake light switch.

I know i could have gotten them both much cheaper online and the crank angle sensor, with a little help from a friend, i could have done myself. labour came to $360.

Does anyone have any experience installing a brake light switch? is it something i could have done myself?

Cool Jesus

If your talking about the brake light switch at the peddle, yep its something you could have done. Twist switch off bracket, unplug lead, plug in lead, twsit back onto bracket - job done...

The crank sensor is a little more difficult, dependant on its location, about an extra 15 or so minutes more over changing the brake light switch.

All this is all well and done, but you need to know what the problem is which at home can take some time to diagnose  ::)

Glad to see your GT is back on the road though.
