Hi im selling a red 82 gtv that has only done 60,000km and im wondering how much money i should/could sell it for. It has a rally cam, extractors, exhaust, suspension and simmons wheels.

60k kms? Is that second time round? It must drive like new. Mate check red book values, car sale websites for similar vehilce, even search our forum for past posts for similar vehicles being sold. But as a ball park $3 to $5k seems to be a price range that I see regularly for running GTVs in reasonable condition. You then have to come up with a figure that reflects the condition of your car and that you are comfortable with accepting. :-\

no its the 1st time. got most of the books to prove it. its spent most of its life in the shed under a car cover. because of this it also doesn't have any rust.

Where abouts in Adelaide are you located ?

Well - there was a shiny (but condition report perhaps suggested not so good mechanicall) one at recent shannons auction - didn't make its (ambitious?) estimate of around 8-12k - went for $5kish which seems cheap given the apparently excellent cosmetic condition http://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/lot/MT5B95FQPV8120FK/

If yours is really well looked after original who knows what someone may pay for it - but in general the V6s will make more and they don't seem to be making a lot of $ either. Most looking for a 2L will prefer the earlier cars (sans plastic bumpers) - so that limits price as well?

Bolty21

yeh its difficult. i went for $6500 and see wat calls i get back. thanks for the advice.

although i have only bought one road going gtv in adelaide, based on what ive seen advertised, seen what they are selling for and payed for poorer condition examples. their value is pretty low unfortunatly (or fortunatly for me to wreck) my 83 gtv when i bought it 3 years ago was pretty near mint, awesome paint, no rust, brand new carrillo headlights, 17" wheels with brand new tyres, hottie engine rebuilt / cams, extractors, rebuilt gearbox, 4x100 hubs, konis / all new suspension bushes/ lowered springs AND with 3 months fresh rego i payed $2000. not saying you wont get what your asking and by all means good luck with the sale but just a reflection of what ive seen the value of them to be in adelaide over the past couple years, going between 2-4k. cheers, Brad

Unfortunately these early plastic bumper / split dash GTV's are the least desirable of all Alfetta coupes.

Saw it Saturday and had a quick look around. Looks very tidy and straight. Should be a worthwhile purchase for whoever picks it up. Note you have already nocked 1k off - hope you don't have to come down too much more...
